Team's hot taps allow drilling and cutting into pressurized operations or lines, and have been used extensively and successfully world-wide for making branch connections into operating heat exchangers, vessels, columns, tanks, a pipelines.
They can be performed on lines from 1/2" to 48" in diameter, in temperatures from cyrogenic to 1350oF (732oC), and on pressures from vacuum to 4300 psig (296 Bar). Recently two 2500 psig hot taps were performed on 6" carbon steel pipes in carbon dioxide service.
